Design Team
Fayette Terlouw
I have been a "doodler" all of my life -- from volunteering for any and all art projects in school, to painting the windows in my parents' home for the holidays. My love of art became less of a hobby and more of a career when I fell in love with tole painting. I began designing and publishing tole painting patterns in 1992. Even though my first love was painting, my move into the scrapbooking world was a natural one. In 1996, my publisher invited several designers to produce a line of papers and stickers. Since then, I've designed porcelain and resin figurines, pewter designs, counted cross-stitch patterns, stamps, and even some clipart CDs. It's been exciting and very fulfilling to make a living doing something I love so much.
Although I rarely design anything with a paintbrush in my hand anymore, I still love the entire design process. I love working with graphics programs, learning new things, and seeing just what interesting designs we can come up with. I love working with Annette to develop TLC's product line. I feel fortunate that TLC puts that much faith in our talents (we love a good challenge!). I'm also thrilled to have an expanded Design Team, including such talented people!
Fayette lives in a small town in Northern Utah with her husband Kees. They have two daughters, one son and four grandkids that they adore. They're also fortunate to have Fayette's Dad living with them. They love the outdoors, traveling and spending time with their family.
Annette Ward
When I was in the sixth grade, my history teacher asked me to make monthly calendars for her bulletin boards in exchange for an "A" in the class. Needless to say, I loved the assignment but I'm not very good at history! I also started hand-lettering certificates for a teacher in 10th grade and, as a class officer, I did a lot of artwork for the school. My blossoming art career kept me busy throughout my early years.
Soon after I married, I began teaching calligraphy classes and had my own lettering business with several clients. I have illustrated children's activity books, tole painting books and clipart books for several companies. I've also designed rubber stamps, embroidery, home décor gifts and other papercraft items throughout my career.
Some of my hobbies include tennis, waterskiing, snow skiing, decorating, traveling and spending time with my family. I also thoroughly enjoy designing for TLC and meeting all the Consultants.
Annette lives in Sandy, Utah with her husband Kelly. They have one daughter and four sons who keep them very busy and inspire them daily.
Kim Hurst
I was first introduced to scrapbooking about seven years ago at a home party. While I was quickly falling in love with this hobby I was also expanding my creativity and finding my own style. I knew that there just had to be more to offer out there. And the collecting began! I would crop with friends from time to time, but became serious about my creative journey about two years ago. Having a direct sales background, I thought that when I found TLC it would merge the two perfectly. However it turned out that I was much better at creating than selling... and thus had to make a choice. This last year I have embraced my gift and I can’t wait to see where this creative journey takes me.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to design for scrapbook kit clubs and my work has been featured in manufacturer's gallery sites. My hope is to inspire creativity in others through my work.
Kim currently lives in Southern California with her husband, Ron and two children. Meghan, 10, loves her photo taken and is most often the subject of Kim's pages. At 14, Mitchel is adept at hiding from the camera, but if Kim can get a photo of him you bet she’ll scrap it!

Amber Palacios
I started scrapbooking in 1998 while I was pregnant with my daughter. I was invited to a home party and went reluctantly; after all, I didn't need another hobby. By the end of the party, I knew that scrapbooking was the only hobby I wanted. I have since collected a huge supply of scrapbooking items and tools and love to learn new techniques. It was only natural that I also took on the art of digital. Being an avid computer junkie, I taught myself Photoshop and the rest, as they say, is history.
I still love my papercraft, as the hands-on creating is very therapeutic for me, but the digital designing and speed at which I can create gift albums can't be beat.
I began my career as a TLC consultant in 2005 and have been thrilled with the company, it's people and it's products. I am so very excited to be a part of the Design Team now, too!
Amber lives in San Antonio, Texas and has three children and one grandchild: Robert (27), David (22), Allison (8) and Blaine (2 months). Eight-year-old Allison loves to be the subject of scrapbook pages, but with the recent birth of grandson, Blaine, Allison now shares the spotlight.

Karma Holoboff
Can you believe that when I was only nine years old I started my first scrapbook? Of course it was not acid free, but this is when my passion for collecting
photos and memorabilia began. By the time I was in high school, I had completed five very large albums. I did a huge scrapbook of all my choir memories, from
the time I was in the 4th grade, all the way up until my senior year in high school. My choir director was so impressed with what I had done she had me do
several more for the other graduating students in the choir.
I have worked in the scrapbooking industry now for over 11 years and have really loved how it has helped me grow as a person and in my creativity. I have
been designing websites and working with graphics for ten years, all self taught, and I am excited to use my talents toward creating fun designs for the
TLC Design Team!
Karma loves interior decorating, singing with various vocal groups, riding bikes with her family and playing "Guitar Hero"
with her 7-year-old son on the Playstation! A fun fact about Karma is that she has lived in four different time zones in the last eight years and just recently moved
to South Carolina with her husband of 11 years.
